The What & How of our Education Awards

How do I apply?

The 2024 awards application process is now closed.  Please check back here in March 2025 for details about next years’ awards.

CFUW Perth and District reaches out to local high schools and training institutions in March to share the application form and any updates, but
individuals are also invited to apply directly using the information below. If you are a secondary school student, your guidance counsellor may be able to assist you with your application. Awards are given to individuals pursuing full-time studies.

Applicants must reside within the Perth and District region and priority is given to applicants who demonstrate financial need. Individuals who have received rewards in the past are invited to apply again if they need
financial help to continue their studies.

Applicants are required to submit:

  • a completed application form

  • a letter of acceptance to a public college or university

  • a copy of your OSAP estimate of award from this site: https://osap.gov.on.ca/AidEstimator2324Web/enterapp/enter.xhtml

  • a covering letter explaining why you should be considered for a bursary, your education and career goals, your part time work and/or community activities, and your financial needs

  • one letter of reference that includes contact information for the referee,  This letter should be from a teacher or employer who can speak to your readiness to succeed in your post-secondary studies.

Note: the OSAP estimator may not be updated by the time you are working on your application.  Please choose September 2023 as your start date if that is the case.

If possible, these documents should be submitted as one PDF file and sent to: cfuwpertheducationawards@gmail.com by the deadline.

A committee made up of CFUW members reviews the applications and contacts successful applicants three weeks after the deadline. Award winners are invited to meet with CFUW members at a reception to celebrate their success.

Members of CFUW Perth and District and their immediate families may not apply for these awards.
